I Dream of Johnny, & Johnny, & Johnny [3 Wishes Blog Blitz!]

BlogBlitz-logoWELCOME to the official post for the Three Wishes Blog Blitz to celebrate the release of I Dream of Johnny, my new novella out now with Escape Publishing!

From 2nd to 6th September you’ll have the chance to win some awesome prizes at all the blogs participating in the blitz, including mine. All you have to do is follow my instructions below for winning the prizes I have on offer, and click on the links of any or all of the other blogs taking part (list is below) to enter their giveaways as well. How cool is that? Why is it called the Three Wishes Blog Blitz? My new  romantic comedy release, I Dream of Johnny, is about three wishes, a high-tech genie in a lamp, and one very unfortunate typo that proves magic isn’t all it cracked up to be…

Three Awesome Johnny’s:

Do you have a favourite Johnny, real or fictional? Here are my top three…

images1. Johnny Depp: Okay, he’s in Captain Jack Sparrow mode here, but it’s such a great picture. How can you not love good ol’ Johnny? My first memories of him were when he was in 21 Jump Street and Nightmare on Elm street, in his pin-up-boy days. Such a great actor who’s made a great career for himself doing things his own way.

dirty-dancing_2. Johnny Castle (played by Patrick Swayze): Ahh, probably my favourite movie of all time: Dirty Dancing. I love the forbidden romance between Baby, an upper-class good girl, and Johnny, a guy from the wrong side of the tracks trying to make a living as a resort dance instructor. Patrick Swayze was great in this movie (R.I.P.), his character Johnny saying one of the most popular lines in movie history: “Nobody puts Baby in the corner.”

JBJ3. Jon Bon Jovi: My first celebrity crush, I was so excited when I bought my first poster of him for my bedroom wall. And I must know how to pick ‘em, because this Johnny has stood the test of time. Still rockin’ and rollin’ as we speak, and I still love Bon Jovi’s music.

So who is the Johnny in my book? I don’t want to give anything away, so here’s the blurb instead 😉

idojI DREAM OF JOHNNY…

Getting three wishes isn’t all it’s cracked up to be when an unfortunate spelling error in Mandy’s high-tech magic lamp changes her wish for a Greek God into a Geek God. His fashion IQ is in the negatives, he’s clingier than cling wrap, and he has a penchant for breaking into song at inappropriate moments. Before Mandy can request a replacement wish, she has to put up with him for twenty four hours, and the timing couldn’t be worse – – it’s her friend’s wedding day, her ex will be there, and the God of Geeks insists on coming along for the ride.

Buy the book via any of the following retailers: Amazon, Amazon UK, iTunes, B&N/Nook, Kobo, Google Play, JB Hi-Fi, Booktopia, ebooks.com, Escape Publishing.

Want to win some awesome prizes? Here’s how…

1. Simply leave a comment below and tell me which of the above three Johnny’s you’d love to have dinner with (yes I know we unfortunately don’t have Patrick Swayze/Johnny Castle with us anymore, but this is all about making wishes ;)), or perhaps there’s another Johnny/John/Jonathan you’d like to share a meal with instead?

2. Also, let me know whether you’re from Australia or International so I know which prize you’re eligible for.

  1. Gee. How do I choose between them? Eeeny meenie, miney mo … If this Aussie girl was not married, she would choose dinner with Jon Bon Jovi because she may once have noted that he has a cute behind. And I’m sure his personality and intellect would be just as notable.

  2. OMG! JOHNNY JOHNNY JOHNNY! Depp of course. I have dreams and delusions he will play leading man in a movie of The Yearning one day. I think Solomon’s character is just bent out of shape enough for Johnny to love.
Good luck with the launch Juliet. x

  3. I would love to have dinner with Patrick Swayze. I have been a big fan of his forever. I am international .

  4. Johnny Depp, definitely. I’m from the US 🙂

  5. Michelle van Schouwen

Jon Bon Jovi would be my pick. I’d love to have dinner with a man that could sing for me, whilst providing a bit of eye candy at the same time. Unfortunately my own husband is a little lacking in the musical department!

    I’m an Aussie girl 🙂
    Thanks

  6. I’m International and tbh, not sure I’m eligible to enter as I’m a part of the hop, but I LOVE Johnny Dep. He’s dreamy. I’d do dinner and more with him. LOL.

  7. Hi! I would love to have dinner with Johnny Depp. I have been an admirer for a long time; as a tween I would decorate my walls with his posters, and now as a woman in my mid-30’s, I continue to admire him both on and off the screen. He seems like quite a reserved and private person so it would make for a very interesting dinner!! Thankyou for the oppprtunity to win; I’m an Aussie and would love to win!

  8. Fabulous blog concept & the prizes are awesome. I’m with Johnny Depp & have actually recruited him for my star ship as my space bunny. Maybe we could clone him? I just think he is a very versatile actor and appears to behave like a gentleman when under the public eye. I’m an Aussie & prob ineligible as I’m in the blog hop too.

  9. Johnny Castle! Yesyesyes. Also awesome contest and I’m Aussie 🙂

  10. Johnny Depp all the way and I’m local 🙂

  11. johnny depp. i’ve been in love with him since “gilbert grape” and “benny and joon.” but if jon bon jovi looked my way…? (now patrick swaysie not so much–i’m just not a fan of the undead.) international but also in this blog hop too.

  12. Jon Bon Jovi for me! His music rocks, and lol, the man is soooo easy on the eyes!

But if I could choose, then I’d go for rugby god Johnnie Wilkinson. Hmm, what a fine bod, and that intense face, and the shaggy blond hair… Yummy 😉

I’m from Mauritius (and taking part in the hop!!!) so I’m entering for the International draws *grin*

  13. Wow, which one! I think I’d take Johnny Depp, although none of that creepy Willy Wonka please!
I’m local, so I’d like to enter that giveaway please. Thanks for organising, it looks like so much fun!

  14. Thanks for stopping by everyone… It’s Battle of the Johnny’s! As for me, I think I’d share an entree with one Johnny, a main meal with another, and dessert with the other! (greedy, I know.)

As for those of you who’ve commented but are also part of the blog blitz and have written a post on your own blog, you’re still eligible for the prizes. All valid comments will be entered 🙂

  15. mmmmm honestly a hard choice to make – but as I’m going to the Bon Jovi concert in Perth (December(and my seat is REAL CLOSE to the stage) and if I chose Johnny Depp my grand-daughter would have a fit (again) it would be Johhny Castle (sure wouldn’t mind being HIS baby LOL) although they woud be the ideal entree, mains and desert combo

  16. Johnny Castle for me, without a doubt! Although John Stamos was rather hot in his day 🙂

    • I was waiting for someone to say John Stamos! Pending any even more delightful ideas, he would be my choice! …Him, or my personal imagining of Little John. Sure, he’s not much for conversation, but he’s Robin Hood’s right hand man and fictional; that’s double the “totally awesome cool” points, right there.

  17. Oooo – for me this is easy. Johnny Castle by Patrick Swayze. RIP. Had to be one of the sexiest men ever born. And I still can’t watch the movie without crying. (for the 100th time)

  18. 1. Johnny Depp
    2. Australia

  19. Oh this one is not easy but hmmm..I would love to have a dinner with Jon Bon Jovi. I loved his music and I still do, so yes, that would be my choice. I’m International.
Thank you so much for this awesome giveaway Juliet! xx

  20. Karla Oleinikoff

This happy little vegemite would LOVE dinner with Johnny Depp. He’s hot, gorgeous, and funny.

  21. Johnny Castle–and maybe he could teach me some dance moves, too, because I have two left feet. U.S.A.

  22. I’m with you on Johnny Castle. Especially since I look like Baby. 🙂
    International.
I’m offline on the 6th and will be back on late on the 7th (EST).

  23. I have to go with another Jon. Jon Hamm aka Don Draper. Can’t go past a tall dark and handsome bad boy.

  24. Johnny Depp. My kids would freak out if I had Jack Sparrow and Tonto in my house!

  25. Channing Tatum’s John Tyree from Dear John – He’s a sweet, kind hearted but troubled hottie, I’d definitely have time for dinner with him!!!

  26. I would go with Johnny Depp. He seems like such an interesting person. I’m sure we could talk for hours!

    outside Aussie… Thanks

    daringzoey@yahoo.com

  27. Okay it’s not original but Johnny Depp would be my choice. I think he’d have lots of good stories.

  28. Let me try this again!!!
Channing Tatum’s John Tyree from Dear John – He’s a sweet, kind hearted but troubled hottie, I’d definitely have time for dinner with him!!!
I’m an Aussie, Melbourne born and bred…

  29. Johnny Depp, hands down. Gorgeous and funny – and unbeatable combination.

  30. OK – so this is a little quirky, but as I am living in the UK I plead British eccentricity!
My dinner guest wish would be JS Bach.

I would love to tell Johann Sebastian just how much I love his music – the 48 Preludes and Fugues, the Brandenberg Concerti, how I sang one of his Passions with a choir just down the road from the Vatican…

Most of all I want to tell him that – though he became considered old-fashioned before he died – his music has more than stood the test of time.

What an intellect, what a musical genius!

  31. Definitely Johnny Depp. I think we would have a great laugh.

  32. Depp, Depp and Depp. Why is this a question?!! I’m in Australia but I probably don’t qualify. just stopping by to say hi!

  33. I can’t believe you forgot John Travolta (*smacks forehead*). Dinner with a young John Travolta because… “I need a man, and my heart is set on yoouuu!”

    aussieland

  34. It would have to be Johnny Castle, I have watched Dirty Danving 100+ times and ‘nobody puts baby in the corner!’
    Amelie, UK

  35. No doubt about it – you chose some great “Johnnys” !! Dinner with either of them would be great …. as for a “John” I would like to meet/have dinner with … John Taylor from Duran Duran or John Nettles of Midsomer Murder fame (shows my age)

  36. Johnny Castle for me. I fell in love with him over & over again. Patrick Swayze was just so gorgeous & he could dance.

    AUSTRALIA

  37. No contest for me, it has to be Johnny Depp. I have loved him since I was 16 with 21 Jump St, he hasn’t disappointed over time either.
Thanks for the chance of winning, I’m an Aussie.

  38. I would love to have dinner with Jon Bon Jovi. I grew up listening to them and have always found him to be sexy!

    USA
    mengel2@nycap.rr.com

  39. Johnny Castle….Parick Swayze…..as his surname implies….boy could he SWAY his hips. There is something rather sexy about a man who can dance well…In my younger days he could have picked me up high in the air….now….if only 😥 xxxxx

    ENGLAND
    UNITED KINGDOM

  40. Hi Juliet. My favourite Johnny would be Johnny Depp…such an irresistible bad boy!
I can’t wait to read ‘I Dream of Johnny’!

    Canada

  41. Johnny Depp. That would be an interesting meal!

    Canada

  42. Johnny Castle… my mom’s dream man 🙂
    USA for me

  43. I would love to have dinner with Johnny Depp. I think it would be so interesting to “pick” his brain.

    USA

  44. Hey Juliet,
Great job with this blog blitz – it’s lovely to be a part of it 🙂
As for me – I’m a dirty dancing fan for sure!
    x

  45. I don’t have to choose between the three Johnny’s in my life. We have been happily co-existing in Australia, for a number of years. A perfect night includes all three. My husband Jon, Johnny Castle by way of vinyl (and my imagination),and my very good friend….Johnny Walker.

  46. Aussie 🙂
    I’d do…ummmm…have dinner with…(yeah that’s what I meant!) Johnny Depp

  47. Jon Bon Jovi but it was a tough decision

    (international)

  48. Ohhh I’d choose Johnny Castle. XD That was a tough choice. XD Also I’m international. 😀

  49. Most definitely Johnny Depp… he seems so down to earth and would make for a great dinner companion. I’m international 🙂

  50. johnny depp he is so hot international

  52. Oh, and I loved reading everyone’s comments for the big Johnny battle! By quick glance it seems that Johnny Depp was most popular 🙂

  53. I’d have to choose Jon Bon Jovi as I love his music and would end up staring at him dreamily during the meal as well as trying to scribble notes under the table for an aged rocker character in my next story and how I could include him and make him my own! (creepy writer!) I’m international by the way, cool giveaway, good luck with your new book!

  54. Sorry I just read that the competition had ended, regardless it was nice to leave a comment 🙂 Good luck all the same!
