My To-Be-Read Pile – so many books, so little time
Years ago I would buy a book (or receive one as a gift), read it, then buy another one. Now, I buy (or receive) many in advance. I love having books around me, there is something magical about the beautiful covers, fancy fonts, and promise of secrets within (wow, that was deep, eh?). And because I’m now a writer I’ve become aware of many new authors and books I want to read, so my pile has grown, both physically (on my bookcases) and virtually (on my Kindle).
Today I’m not going to list ALL the books in my pile, just a selection of ones that I’m particularly keen to read soon.
Are any of these on your list too? Or have you read any of these and think there’s one I should read immediately?!
I’m currently reading The Returned by Jason Mott… what will I read next?
- Blood Secret by Jaye Ford
- Banish by Nicola Marsh
- Outback Dreams by Rachael Johns
- The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion.
- Love Anthony by Lisa Genova
- Chasing Perfect by Susan Mallery
- Three Sisters by Susan Mallery
- The Apple Orchard by Susan Wiggs
- Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella
- Last Night at Chateau Marmont by Lauren Weisberger
- Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
- The Secret Ingredient by Dianne Blacklock
- Beautiful Illusion by Jacquie Underdown
- The One That I Want by Allison Winn Scotch

Some great authors in your list! I Happy Reading.
Thanks Iris, I hope to make more time for reading in 2014 🙂
Lots of good books there. I adored The Rosie Project! How are you finding The Returned?
Yep, it’s hard to choose! I’ve been meaning to read The Rosie Project for a while. I’m finding The Returned very interesting so far, still have a fair way to go yet.
Ohh I’ve read a few of these. I quite enjoyed Dianne Blacklock’s ‘The Secret Ingredient’ – make sure you don’t read it while hungry though. I became famished while reading it, the family watching day long re-runs of Master Chef in the next room didn’t help either, but it did create a nice atmosphere for the book 🙂
I love love love Lauren Weisberger’s books, especially this one. But I won’t give anything away on it 😛
Jaye Ford’s ‘Blood Secret’ is a must read. No one does crime like she does. I highly recommend this one and ‘The Rosie Project’ by Graeme Simsion.
Rachael John’s latest is a gem too! Not sure how you are going to choose what to read next!
Thanks for your suggestions Jess! Helps to narrow it down a little 😉
I’ve read Jaye’s other two books and I really like them and have trouble putting them down!
I might need something a little lighter I’m thinking, after The Returned. Hmm…
Nicola Marsh’s book is on my list/will have to add some others to my wish list. Also Rose Gordon’s Groom and Officer series are on my list.
Since I’m writing YA now I want to start reading more YA too. I like the fast paced plots and unique premises they often have.
